As you’re almost certainly aware, after every Orioles win this season, Glenn determines a “Man Of The Match,” which some have called “the highest honor in all of sports.”
In addition to the social media recognition, the player’s face also goes into a featured position on our “Never Lose Ever” board in the studio.
We received requests to keep an updated tally of how many “Man Of The Match” nods each player has received for the season. We’ll keep that tally here and update it regularly.
There were other contributors (particular shoutouts to Adley Rutschman and Jeremiah Jackson for their grand slams) but ultimately, in Game 1 of a doubleheader, it was pitching that mattered most. Chris Bassitt delivered 6.2 innings of just one earned run on seven hits (and one walk) with seven strikeouts to start the O’s on the way to a 10-3 win over the Astros April 30. It was enough to claim his first #ManOfTheMatch of the season.
