Here at Glenn Clark Radio, we always reflect on the Baltimore Ravens game in a more jovial manner. In retrospect, we like to choose five players on the team who — depending on the outcome of the game — deserve a Pat On The Ass or Slap To The Helmet.
The rules are simple: pick two players on defense, two players on offense, and one “wild card” (an offensive player, defensive player, special teamer or coach) who stuck out from the pack.
As you all are surely aware, the Ravens snuck past the Broncos yesterday to improve to 8-4 and hang on to an AFC North lead over the Bengals. As a result, we have some Ass Pats to hand out.
They will count down in sequential order before we name the ultimate prize — Two Pats on the Ass. That one player who one single Pat just wouldn’t sit right.
Without further adieu:
Glenn’s Pats on the Ass, Week 13:
5. ST Kevon Seymour
You know it’s a weird day when kick coverage stands out but the Ravens handled their business and the yards saved on the final kickoff proved to be critical.
4. RB Kenyan Drake
While he didn’t have an explosive day, he was the most effective back and the free-lanced wheel route to set up the touchdown was an absolutely massive play.
3. QB Tyler Huntley
His completion percentage was the only part of his day that stood out because they kept everything in front of him. But he handled it (for the most part), only had one drastically bad decision and made some gutty plays on the touchdown drive.
2. CB Marlon Humphrey
He’s just been tremendous all season long.
1. LB Roquan Smith (two pats)
The best player on the field by far.
Griffin’s Pats on the Ass, Week 13:
5. WR Devin Duvernay
A very lackluster day offensively but I liked how we used Duvernay. He was effectively utilized in the run game, forcing defenses to be worried about him as a runner, plus he had 6 catches.
4. ST Kevon Seymour
He was elite in punt and kickoff coverage the entire day, making tackles, downing punts. Seymour helped the Ravens win all 3 aspects of the game yesterday.
3. CB Marlon Humphrey
Putting together another All-Pro season and was great as always, even making himself a part of the pass rush.
2. LB Roquan Smith
Leading tackler of a defense that had no choice but to be great.
1. QB Tyler Huntley (two pats)
maybe its a flaw in my pats/slaps grading system but its almost always gonna be the quarterback for me. And Snoop earned this one. He had a long day but at the end of it, he leaned on the defense and then went and won the game for us.
You can listen to the segment in it’s entirety below where you can hear Glenn and Griffin hash out why they chose their respective #1’s in Pats. We also recapped the weekend in the GCR Picks Contest that saw ol’ GC lose the week including our side-bet where now he will have to host an entire show(!) dressed as the Jaguars mascot, American flag thong and all. You can see those updated standings below as well.
