You know the drill! But if you’re new, here at Glenn Clark Radio, we always try to reflect on the most recent Ravens game in a more convivial manner. In retrospect, we like to choose five players on the team who — depending on the outcome of the game — deserve a ‘Pat On The Ass’ or ‘Slap To The Helmet.’
The rules are simple: pick two players on defense, two players on offense, and one “wild card” (an offensive player, defensive player, special teamer or coach) who stuck out from the pack.
It’s two in a row for the Ravens coming out of the bye as the take down the Dolphins on the road off a short week, Lamar Jackson returned, the defense made several stops including three turnovers, everything seems right in the world… So Glenn, Griffin and Stan ‘The Fan’ Charles (who joined the guys in studio on Friday) have some Ass Pats to dish out:
They will count down in sequential order before we name the ultimate prize — Two Pats on the Ass. That one player who one single Pat just wouldn’t sit right.
Without further adieu:
Glenn Clark’s Week 9 Pats:
5. S Alohi Gilman
Was he ACTUALLY better on the whole than Kyle Hamilton? I don’t know. But it was close enough that since he made arguably the most impactful play of the game, he gets the nod.
4. P Jordan Stout
Had a genuine impact on the game and is obviously putting together the best stretch of his career.
3. RB Derrick Henry
One of the quieter 100 yard games you’ll ever see but this is the Derrick Henry effect.
2. LB Teddye Buchanan
Best game of his career. Incredibly impactful throughout.
1. QB Lamar Jackson (two pats)
Still Lamar Jackson.
Griffin Bass’s Week 9 Pats:
5. TE Coach George Godsey
The Ravens Tight Ends were the best position group on the field: Andrews, Kolar, Likely combined for 9 targets, 7 receptions, 105 yards, 3 touchdowns. Apologies to HMs Stout, Gilman, Travis Jones, Buchanan, just about everyone else
4. RB Derrick Henry
Ho-hum 119-yard game.
3. LB Roquan Smith
3rd down stops, plugging gaps and stopping the run, he even looked great in coverage when called upon last night.
2. S Kyle Hamilton
Most notable sequence for me was when he went down with an apparent injury, I’m thinking the season is over again, then they come from break, he’s right back out there immediately makes a violent tackle on tiny 5’8″ Malik Washington, showing that they don’t belong on the field together.
1. QB Lamar Jackson (two pats)
Oh right.
Stan The Fan’s Week 9 Pats:
5. TE Isaiah Likely
4. LB Teddye Buchanan
3. RB Derrick Henry
2. Safety Kyle Hamilton
1. QB Lamar Jackson (two pats)
