Here at Glenn Clark Radio, we always reflect on the Baltimore Ravens game in a more jovial manner. In retrospect, we like to choose five players on the team who — depending on the outcome of the game — deserve a Pat On The Ass or Slap To The Helmet.
The rules are simple: pick two players on defense, two players on offense, and one “wild card” (an offensive player, defensive player, special teamer or coach) who stuck out from the pack.
As you all are surely aware, the Ravens beat the Bengals in massive AFC North bout to open up Week 11 on Thursday Night Football last night, 34-20. As a result, we have some Ass Pats to hand out.
They will count down in sequential order before we name the ultimate prize — Two Pats on the Ass. That one player who one single Pat just wouldn’t sit right.
Today, Stan ‘The Fan’ Charles was in studio with Griffin and Glenn and he had plenty of praises to dish out as well. Without further adieu:
Glenn’s Week 11 TNF Pats:
5. RB Gus Edwards
It took a little while to get it going, but Gus Edwards is just so freaking reliable, man.
4. QB Lamar Jackson
He wasn’t perfect, but particularly given that he clearly wasn’t 100% he deserves a lot of credit.
3. CB Ronald Darby
He was good all game but the play on Ja’Marr Chase really stood out.
2. EDGE Odafe Oweh
This.
1. WR Odell Beckham Jr. (Man of the Match)
This is proving to be as good as advertised if not better.
Griffin’s Week 11 TNF Pats:
5. CB Ronald Darby
What did Frankie Valli say in December 1963? Oh what a night! 3 huge pass deflections and break ups against one of the best WR corps. in football.
4. QB Lamar Jackson
Wasn’t as sharp as you’d like, missed a few deep balls, would really like those to hit… but took care of the football, 0 turnovers, and showed that while Mark Andrews is a brutal loss, as long as #8 is still upright, this team is a Super Bowl contender.
3. OC Todd Monken
They ran the ball really, really well in second half making great adjustments and Patrick Mekari in the 1st quarter looked a lot different than the rest of the game, largely due to how they changed what plays they’d run, more 7-step drops.
2. CB Brandon Stephens
Coming in, my biggest worry was the secondary because of Brandon Stephens. He and Darby made me look like a fool for starting Tyler Boyd and Joe Burrow in fantasy and held one of the best receivers in football to a complete non-factor.
1. WR Odell Beckham, Jr. (Man of the Match)
Will need someone to step up with Mark Andrews gone, OBJ did a fantastic job last night.
Stan ‘The Fan’s’ TNF Pats:
5. WR Nelson Agholor
The TD off the pass deflection was really impressive.
4. WR Odell Beckham, Jr.
He has been worth the money.
3. S Marcus Williams
After a shaky return from injury the last couple weeks, he had a really solid night.
2. EDGE Odafe Oweh
He’s looked like a different player since coming back from injury.
1. DC Mike Macdonald (Man of the Match)
He continues to have the Bengals and Joe Burrow’s number.
