You know the drill by now, but if you’re new, here at Glenn Clark Radio, we always try to reflect on the most recent Ravens game in a more convivial manner. In retrospect, we like to choose five players on the team who — depending on the outcome of the game — deserve a Pat On The Ass or Slap To The Helmet.
The rules are simple: pick two players on defense, two players on offense, and one “wild card” (an offensive player, defensive player, special teamer or coach) who stuck out from the pack.
As we all know, and barely lived through, the Ravens eeked by the Bengals in a candidate for game of the year after a thrilling 41-38 OT win in Cincinnati, as a result, we have some Ass Pats to hand out.
They will count down in sequential order before we name the ultimate prize — Two Pats on the Ass. That one player who one single Pat just wouldn’t sit right.
Without further adieu:
Glenn’s Pats on the Ass:
5. DL Nnamdi Madubuike
The defense had a bad day. The Bengals got the ball back with 1:35 left and we all assumed they’d score again and the Ravens’ rally would be for naught. One sack put the Bengals behind the 8 ball.
4. TE Charlie Kolar
Perhaps it’s crazy for me to leave Zay Flowers off the list but Charlie Kolar had a day. Tight ends, defensive tackles, inside linebackers and guards, I’d trust the Baltimore Ravens with my life.
3. K Justin Tucker
Hell of a time to be Justin Tucker again.
2. CB Marlon Humphrey
It wasn’t a great day. And then quite suddenly it was a great day.
1. QB Lamar Jackson (two pats)
He’s Lamar Jackson. I feel like you’ve heard of him.
Griffin’s Pats on the Ass:
5. DL Nnamdi Madubuike
Stuffed the stat sheet again, showed why you pay him. Bengals, just like every other team the Ravens have face couldn’t run the ball and obviously he came up with a massive, MASSIVE sack at the start of the Bengals final drive of regulation.
4. CB Marlon Humphrey
That’s what all-pro ‘Lo does. Not the most perfect game, but the Bengals receivers are really good and when the defense had to make a play, on their heels as Joe Burrow with 5 TDs and counting is driving, great players step up and make great plays, that was one of the plays of the game.
3. LT Ronnie Stanley
What a great game. Played so hard, left it all out on the field, literally. Was the lead blocker for the two biggest runs of the day and countless others, he’s starting to look like an all-pro again too…
2. K Justin Tucker
56-yard game-tying field goal and the game-winner in OT? (Yes, it was only 24 yards on the game-winner, but) I’d say that’s a pretty strong return to form.
1. QB Lamar Jackson (two pats)
I mean come on. Just ridiculous. Nothing he does ever makes any sense
The guys also recapped the week in ‘Picks’ as well, here is the updated table:
