You know the drill, here at Glenn Clark Radio, we always reflect on the Baltimore Ravens game in a more jovial manner. In retrospect, we like to choose five players on the team who — depending on the outcome of the game — deserve a Pat On The Ass or Slap To The Helmet.
The rules are simple: pick two players on defense, two players on offense, and one “wild card” (an offensive player, defensive player, special teamer or coach) who stuck out from the pack.
As you all are surely aware, the Ravens took down the Houston Texans on Saturday to advance and host the AFC title game next week against the Chiefs, as a result, we have some Ass Pats to hand out.
They will count down in sequential order before we name the ultimate prize — Two Pats on the Ass. That one player who one single Pat just wouldn’t sit right.
Without further adieu:
Glenn’s Pats On The Ass:
5. CB Arthur Maulet
The pressure was impactful and he’s just been so stunningly good.
4. DL Justin Madubuike
7 pressures, 5 hurries, 2 hits. The Ravens might not have recorded a sack but they sure as hell made an impact.
3. DC Mike Macdonald
The only BAD call I could remember the entire game was the 3rd & 13. He was awesome and STILL made adjustments.
2. OT Ronnie Stanley
That guy looked like Ronnie Stanley.
1. QB Lamar Jackson (two pats)
It’s Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock, man. It’s just spectacular.
Griffin’s Pats On The Ass:
5. DE Jadeveon Clowney
He was only credited with one solo tackle, the very first of the game, set the tone that the one “concern” we had going in, was no longer a concern.
4. LT Ronnie Stanley
The team ran for 229 yds, you can literally put any of the O-lineman here, but this was vintage Stanley, he didn’t allow a single pressure.
3. OC Todd Monken
That second half was clinical. The 4th and 1, the TD play to Likely… Bravo! Bravo! Encore!
2. LB Roquan Smith
He’s here, he’s there, he’s every f*ckin’ where. Ro-Quan!!
1. QB Lamar Jackson (two pats)
He is on a mission.
Also Monday on GCR, Glenn and Griffin recapped the Divisional Round weekend in the GCR Picks Contest as we saw some shakeup at the top of the table with John in Little Rock jumping out to a one-game lead… You can listen as we recap the weekend and dish out our Ass Pats right here:
