Here at Glenn Clark Radio, we always reflect on the Baltimore Ravens game in a more jovial manner. In retrospect, we like to choose five players on the team who — depending on the outcome of the game — deserve a Pat On The Ass or Slap To The Helmet.
The rules are simple: pick two players on defense, two players on offense, and one “wild card” (an offensive player, defensive player, special teamer or coach) who stuck out from the pack.
Obviously, the Ravens lost another late second half lead last night, this time to the Steelers. and as a result, we have some Ass Pats to hand out.
They will count down in sequential order before we name the ultimate prize — Two Slaps on the Ass. That one player who one single Slap just wouldn’t sit right.
Without further adieu:
Glenn’s Week 17 Slaps to the Helmet:
5. OT Morgan Moses
I actually think he was significantly bad and obviously he was hurt but between the penalty and the sack and the standard we’ve come to expect…yeesh.
4. QB Tyler Huntley
For a half, he was playing as serviceably as we’ve seen him play here. Sadly that did not continue.
3. LB Odafe Oweh
I can’t say he’s not living up to expectations any longer. But still.
2. LB Tyus Bowser
I have to be fair. He’s my guy. I love him. But the entire front seven, himself included, was gashed by the run. I can’t ignore that.
1. LB Roquan Smith (two slaps)
It’s like Kevin Garnett said, “with great power comes great responsibility.” Our expectations are through the roof for Smith, who could be paid $20 million a year. He certainly wasn’t the reason they lost. But given what we expect and how they got gashed, this is where we are.
Griffin’s Week 17 Slaps to the Helmet:
5. LB Roquan Smith
He’s got high expectations now and didn’t live up to it last night, plus he let up winning touchdown.
4. OT Morgan Moses
He had to block TJ Watt, which is a tall order, but he didn’t have a good night after the best game of his career a week ago.
3. NT Broderick Washington
Steelers run-game was flowing, starts with the big guys up the front to stop that.
2. OC Greg Roman
I don’t how many times we can just say, it starts with the coaching staff. Essentially three straight 3-and-outs before Kenny Pickett’s game-winning drive. Run the ball and then run some more, to me, it’s simple.
1. QB Tyler Huntley (two slaps)
Not an NFL-caliber QB, gotta be able to throw it more than 8 yards downfield. Not having a real WR to throw to doesn’t help but that interception was BAD.
Carson Weekly’s Week 17 Slaps to the Helmet:
5. Offensive Line Coach Joe D’Alessandris
Need to block TJ Watt. Figure out blocking assignments, they’re rushing six and we’re only blocking five, Watt can’t be the one guy that’s unaccounted for, he didn’t get touched.
4. CB Marlon Humphrey
Not following the top receiver across the formation and leaving Brandon Stephens on them, simply not a winning formula with your number 3/4 corner guarding the other teams top guy.
3. LB Roquan Smith
Him and the defensive line, no squeeze on run plays.
2. OT Morgan Moses
the whole line had no push, needed a yard or two on multiple occasions and couldn’t get it.
1. QB Tyler Huntley (two slaps)
Poor presence in the pocket, awful interception.

We also recapped the weekend in the GCR Picks Contest, it’s not yet settled but the side-bet of gurgling garlic juice and mouthwash comes down to MNF between the Bengals and Bills with Carson being the Bills, Griffin on the Bengals. Here’s the updated standings:
