Here at Glenn Clark Radio, we always reflect on the Baltimore Ravens game in a more jovial manner.  In retrospect, we like to choose five players on the team who — depending on the outcome of the game — deserve a Pat On The Ass or Slap To The Helmet.

The rules are simple: pick two players on defense, two players on offense, and one “wild card” (an offensive player, defensive player, special teamer or coach) who stuck out from the pack.

As you all are surely aware, the Ravens narrowly escaped with a win over the Browns in Baltimore on Sunday, as a result, we have some Ass Pats to hand out.

They will count down in sequential order before we name the ultimate prize — Two Pats on the Ass. That one player who one single Pat just wouldn’t sit right.

Without further adieu:

Glenn’s Pats on the Ass, Week 7:

5. QB Lamar Jackson

He wasn’t particularly good. And he made some mistakes. But he also made some critical plays in the course of them winning the game. Given how few good offensive player candidates there were, that was more than enough to make the list.

4. P Jordan Stout

It was tough to choose which special teams player would make the list. Devin Duvernay, Malik Harrison and Justin Tucker ALL made huge special teams plays. But ultimately the 69 yard punt felt like the most “game changing” of them to me.

3. DE Calais Campbell

Similarly, the edge rushers all played well. It was hard to choose which one should make the list. But Campbell’s strip sack stood out as the single biggest play made.

2. RB Gus Edwards

The Ravens are a much better team with Gus Edwards on the field.

1. LB Patrick Queen (two pats)

Without question, the best player on the field yesterday.

Griffin’s Pats on the Ass, Week 7:

5. WR Devin Duvernay

He was our second best offensive player yesterday and had the most production of any pass catcher, plus he continues to be a difference maker in the special teams department.

4. DE Justin Houston

He had a couple of sacks and other big plays and made his presence felt big time while only playing limiting snaps, good effort from the pass rush and front all game yesterday.

3. DE Calais Campbell

The FF and sack were big early in the 2nd half and led to a touchdown drive. We’re going to need him, both his size and his leadership down the stretch here.

2. Safety Geno Stone

He was best tackler on the field yesterday. He has stepped in huge in the absence of Marcus Williams and played every snap plus had the game-sealing FF.

1. RB Gus Edwards

The offense looks completely different with Gus in the backfield. What a wild concept that you get positive yards when you just run forward. I forgot how much better he makes the team look when he’s out there.

We also recapped our weekly Picks Contest while Griffin and Glenn settled a side-bet, which by the way, Griffin is now 0-for-4 on. He had to drink a mixture of milk and 7up…You can look at the updated standings below and watch Griffin pay his debt starting at the 51:10 mark:
