Here at Glenn Clark Radio, we always reflect on the Baltimore Ravens game in a more jovial manner.  In retrospect, we like to choose five players on the team who — depending on the outcome of the game — deserve a Pat On The Ass or Slap To The Helmet.

The rules are simple: pick two players on defense, two players on offense, and one “wild card” (an offensive player, defensive player, special teamer or coach) who stuck out from the pack.

As you all are surely aware, the Ravens lost on Sunday after blowing another large lead at home, this time to the Bills. As a result, we have some Helmet Slaps to hand out.

They will count down in sequential order before we name the ultimate prize — Two Slaps to the Helmet (or face in some cases). That one player or coach who one single Slap just is not quite enough after a loss like that.

Without further adieu:

Glenn’s Slaps To The Helmet, Week 4:

5. Center Tyler Linderbaum

The three penalties were killer and Rashod Bateman can thank for that as it allowed him to be left off the list.

4. EDGE Odafe Oweh

I didn’t think he had a terrible day but you can’t overcome how bad of a look that was at the end of the game.

3. QB Lamar Jackson

He missed the touchdown to Andrews on an overthrow. He didn’t see Duvernay wide open on 4th down (admittedly complicated by pressure). Even the Bateman drop could have been a better ball. We have high standards for him of course but it wasn’t a great day.

2. LB Patrick Queen

Obviously the dropped interception will get the most attention but it was more than that. Tough day.

1. Head Coach John Harbaugh (two slaps)

Absolutely inexcusable decision to go for it late and allow the Bills the chance to run out the clock. Challenging a spot call is throwing away a timeout unless there is some sort of OVERWHELMING evidence.

Griffin’s Slaps To The Helmet, Week 4:

5. Head Coach John Harbaugh

I was hesitant to put him here because I am always for going for it on 4th down. But that wasn’t the only bone-headed decision he made, challenging a spot? Not defending you decision in the postgame? The Marcus Peters outburst a bad look as well. Not John’s shiniest moment in Baltimore yesterday.

4. QB Lamar Jackson

The interceptions were not good, especially the last one. He was in a spot to take the lead late in the 4th quarter and came up short. Those are plays that half a billion dollar QBs need to make (a contract that he should still get) and it highlighted a very lack luster day from Lamar Jackson.

3. EGDE Odafe Oweh

Hard to put him here because he had a pretty solid day, but he was the only guy trying to tackle Devin Singletary and prevented him from scoring. Not a good look at all.

2. WR Rashod Bateman

The drops, we have to have them. Not sure what the story is with his foot but the bottom line is he wasn’t on the field when we needed him to be.

1. Patrick Queen (two slaps)

He’s completely lost in coverage, dropped a big interception, he wears #6…I would leap at the opportunity to make a trade for a top corner (or pass rusher) like we did with Kenny Young in 2019.
