You know the drill, but in case you’re new, here at Glenn Clark Radio, we always try to reflect on the most recent Ravens game in a more convivial manner. In retrospect, we like to choose five players on the team who — depending on the outcome of the game — deserve a Pat On The Ass or Slap To The Helmet.
The rules are simple: pick two players on defense, two players on offense, and one “wild card” (an offensive player, defensive player, special teamer or coach) who stuck out from the pack.
The Ravens dominated the Steelers in Saturday’s Wild Card matchup with a 28-14 win–as a result, we have some Ass Pats to hand out.
They will count down in sequential order before we name the ultimate prize — Two Pats on the Ass. That one player who one single Pat just wouldn’t sit right.
Without further adieu:
Glenn’s Pats on the Ass:
5. DT Nnamdi Madubuike
The third down sack to end the third quarter was phenomenal when they needed a play. The D-Line wasn’t dominant but they made timely plays.
4. S Ar’Darius Washington
He was all over the field again and the third down stop of Freiermuth will be making an appearance on tomorrow’s list.
3. OT Roger Rosengarten
Just an absolute clinic against TJ Watt.
2. QB Lamar Jackson
Brilliant.
1. RB Derrick Henry (two pats)
Brillianter. <— (editor note from Griffin: not a word)
Griffin’s Pats on the Ass:
5. EDGE Odafe Oweh
The sack on the final Steelers drive was killer, just bull-rushing past Broderick Jones. He and the entire DL had great games, keeping Russ under duress the whole way. Broderick Washington also very much under consideration. Pittsburgh never even came close to getting the run going.
4. DT Nnamdi Madubuike
Dawg. perfect contain guy, stops the run, his first sack of Russ sticks out bc he was double teamed, was just kind of camping out and as soon as Russ broke out of the pocket, BOOM! Also a massive contributor to bottling up of the Steelers run game.
3. QB Lamar Jackson
There’s nothing more I can offer to the Lamar Jackson conversation, so I’m going to complain about the rules of this game preventing me from adding Isaiah Likely to this list. He was unbelievable, stepping up huge without Zay Flowers, from the stiff arm to blocking on almost every single run play including setting a pick on Minkah Fitzpatrick for Lamar:
2. RT Roger Rosengarten
Honestly probably could have put any of the other offensive lineman here. TJ Watt was nonexistent, literally, it’s like he didn’t play. 63 snaps and not a single stat. Unreal performance.
1. RB Derrick Henry (two pats)
Oh, THIS is why they got him.
We also recapped the weekend in picks, Glenn still in last place, trailing Paul Valle by two games. There will be no movement at the bottom or top of the table after tonight’s LAR/MIN game:
