You know the drill by now, but if you’re new, here at Glenn Clark Radio, we always try to reflect on the most recent Ravens game in a more convivial manner.  In retrospect, we like to choose five players on the team who — depending on the outcome of the game — deserve a Pat On The Ass or Slap To The Helmet.

The rules are simple: pick two players on defense, two players on offense, and one “wild card” (an offensive player, defensive player, special teamer or coach) who stuck out from the pack.

The Ravens added another win on Christmas Day and now have a chance to clinch the AFC North at home in Week 18 thanks to a 31-2 win down in Houston–as a result, we have some Ass Pats to hand out.

They will count down in sequential order before we name the ultimate prize — Two Pats on the Ass. That one player who one single Pat just wouldn’t sit right.

Without further adieu:

Glenn’s Pats on the Ass:

5. DL Nnamdi Madubuike

Look, it could have been any of the other defensive players. They were all great. Madubuike had three quarterback hits and that stood out just slightly to me to separate from everyone else.

4. RB Derrick Henry

He would have been #2 if not for the safety.

3. S Ar’Darius Washington

Really the best story of the season and obviously he made the single biggest play of the game.

2. DC Zachary Orr

You pitch a shutout, you’re gonna make the list. It’s as simple as that. Although he’s gotta work on his celebrations.

1. QB Lamar Jackson (two pats)

He’s Lamar Jackson.

Griffin’s Pats on the Ass:

5. Safety Kyle Hamilton

Just had to go back to the ol’ reliables today. What a great day defensively, for him and the team as a whole. A very impressive interception put it over the top, but not mad if I saw Nnamdi Madubuike here, or even Odafe Oweh and Kyle Van Noy.

4. RT Roger Rosengarten

Blocking his ass off. He was blocking guys 10 yards downfield on multiple occasions and creating a second level of holes to run through for Henry (who cost the defense the shutout btw). Impressive stuff.

3. LB Roquan Smith

Roquan was flying around. Had a fourth down stop in there, made the first tackle of the day for the defense, blowing up Mixon at LOS. Felt like he was in on every big run stop and was very good in coverage too. And guess who had the pressure on Stroud on the Hamilton interception?

2. DC Zach Orr

What a day for the defense, I’ll give plenty of props to the signal-caller. Greg Olsen mentioned it on the broadcast, they played two-high safeties all game and that’s what Stroud has struggled with this season, so credit ZO not trying to get cute, stuck with it, schemed up some pretty great pressure to keep Stroud uncomfortable all day too.

1. QB Lamar Jackson (two pats)

Wow.

Here’s a look at where Glenn and Griffin stand with their season-long Pats and Slaps (5 pts for being first in pats, -5 points for being first in slaps, and so on and so on):
