Here at Glenn Clark Radio, we always reflect on the Baltimore Ravens game in a more jovial manner.  In retrospect, we like to choose five players on the team who — depending on the outcome of the game — deserve a Pat On The Ass or Slap To The Helmet.

The rules are simple: pick two players on defense, two players on offense, and one “wild card” (an offensive player, defensive player, special teamer or coach) who stuck out from the pack.

As you all are surely aware, the Ravens’ lost to the Titans in Week 11, and as a result, we have some Helmet Slaps to hand out.

They will count down in sequential order before we name the ultimate detriment — Two Slaps to the Helmet.  That one player who one single Slap just wouldn’t sit right.

Without further ado:

Glenn’s Slaps to the Helmet, Week 11:

5. OC Greg Roman

I think we’re obsessing a bit too much when it comes to Roman, but it still doesn’t explain why a team that was having success going up tempo late in the game would decide to get away from it in overtime or why they would ever think to run a “give up” play on 3rd & 17 in overtime. And while I get that they certainly don’t have the right personnel to be a great red zone offense, the personnel isn’t changing. They have to figure out a way to make it work.

4. QB Lamar Jackson

He was not terrible. But he sure as hell wasn’t great. He’s gotta make the throw to Mark Andrews in the middle of the field. Just HAS to be made. It’s a tough throw, but if he’s not going to be a more dynamic passer outside the numbers he absolutely has to make that throw. And the interception towards Duvernay is a ball that never should have been thrown.

3. S Chuck Clark

That image will stick with us for some time. Just absolutely brutal.

2. WR Hollywood Brown

In the words of Destiny’s Child, “I need a soldier.” They don’t have one right now.

1. CB Marcus Peters (two slaps)

Just an unfathomably bad day from him. Terrible.

Kyle’s Slaps to the Helmet, Week 11:

5. Chuck Clark

As part of the tragic effort against AJ Brown, he needs to be on this list. He has to make that tackle.

4. Marlon Humphrey

Also part of that attempted tackle, he was burnt a couple times in the second half and also committed a costly pass interference.

3. Hollywood Brown

With drops now becoming a theme, he is even more in the spotlight, and his struggles are further highlighting the team’s deficiencies at wide receiver.

2. Marcus Peters

Not really sure he did anything well yesterday.

1. Lamar Jackson

The throw to Duvernay was simply unacceptable. I get that he didn’t call the play, but the Ravens needed to put that game on ice, not give the Titans a gift. That, combined with some other missed chances, puts him here. The line needs to be better, the wide receivers need to be better, the coaches need to be better — but so does Lamar.
