You know the drill! But if you’re new, here at Glenn Clark Radio, we always try to reflect on the most recent Ravens game in a more convivial manner. In retrospect, we like to choose five players on the team who — depending on the outcome of the game — deserve a ‘Pat On The Ass’ or ‘Slap To The Helmet.’
The rules are simple: pick two players on defense, two players on offense, and one “wild card” (an offensive player, defensive player, special teamer or coach) who stuck out from the pack.
The Ravens performed extremely poorly in their 37-20 loss to the Chiefs in Kansas City Sunday, suffered some impactful injuries with just about nothing going their way… As a result, Glenn and Griffin have some Helmet Slaps to hand out:
They will count down in sequential order before we name the ultimate prize — Two Slaps to the Helmet. That one player who one single Slap just wouldn’t sit right.
Without further adieu:
Glenn Clark’s Week 3 Slaps:
5. EDGE Mike Green
It’s probably unfair that I put so much on Mike Green to start the season. But the Ravens’ path to success defensively always had to involve him playing at the level of the first round pick many of us believed he should have been.
4. OT Roger Rosengarten
I’ve sort of been taking turns with which O-Lineman has been on the list in which week. Perhaps others were worse but the penalty on what would have been a big play to Hopkins stands out.
3. CB Marlon Humphrey
They’re absolutely picking on him right now.
2. QB Lamar Jackson
The interception was atrocious. The fumble was bad. The two delay of games were stunning. When, exactly he was hurt, I don’t know. But everything snowballed after the pick.
1. HC John Harbaugh (two slaps)
The defense remains the bigger part of the problem, but this really was a complete and total annihilation.
Griffin Bass’s Week 3 Slaps:
5. RG Daniel Faalele
Congrats on the new nickname Daniel, “Revolving Door”… The offensive line collectively was not good, the two plays that stand out are the 4th and 1 with ~3 minutes left in the first half and the Lamar fumble. This right side of the offensive line is WEAK.
4. CB Marlon Humphrey
Got torched for as long as he was out there, which begs the question, is Marlon the new Brandon Stephens?
3. LB Roquan Smith
Did he have a tackle? Oh right, on the play he got injured. He only played a half, but the defense never even sniffed a stop when he was still playing. The middle of the field was swiss cheese.
2. QB Lamar Jackson
I don’t think he quit. But he was bad. Looks lost when blitzed. The interception was awful. Holding the ball too long. So much I just don’t understand.

1. HC John Harbaugh (two slaps)
Harbaugh was passive, team was unprepared, undisciplined and clearly outplayed. The Chiefs were 4-for-4 on 4th down. Ravens were 1-for-4 on 4th, and didn’t go for it when they absolutely needed to when in the redzone in the second half with a healthy Lamar Jackson.
