Baseball season is back! And with is the return of ‘Three Up and Three Down’ where Glenn and Griffin recap the week that was in Orioles baseball. It’s quite simple, Monday on GCR the boys will rank their top performing Orioles each week, and some of the worst performing birds of the previous week. Much like in baseball, we will go ‘Three Up and Three Down’ ranking the top three best and bottom three worst Orioles performers based specifically the most recent week of baseball.

The Orioles won five of seven last week, each win coming against a division foe including a sweep of the AL East-leading Tampa Bay Rays to begin the week before splitting with the banged up Blue Jays. Glenn and Griffin share their best and worst performers of the week, let’s see how the boys have the birds stacking up:

Glenn’s Three Up:

3. C Samuel Basallo

It’s really tough to leave Colton Cowser off this list, but the defensive miscue on Saturday was just enough to give the slimmest of edges to Basallo, who OPS-ed an insane 1.429 for the week.

2. INF Blaze Alexander

He went 10-20 for the week! 10-20! That includes a home run and 8RBI and just, on the whole, being a thing.

1. SP Kyle Bradish

His re-ascent has truly changed everything. In 13 innings over two starts against division opponents, he combined for a 0.69 ERA and 1.08 WHIP. Just sublime.

Griffin’s Three Up:

3. OF Colton Cowser

I went back and forth for a while here because there’s probably about six other guys worthy of this spot, but have to default to Cowser. The milkman was clutch all week, starting with the Memorial Day Walk-Off, helped spark the 9th inning rally Saturday vs Toronto and came out with another massive 3-run homer yesterday.

2. SP Shane Baz

Another excellent start from Baz, struck out nine while turning in seven innings of one-run ball against Tampa, again!

1. SP Kyle Bradish

It’s funny because watching the USMNT yesterday, the same word came to my mind that Glenn used, sublime. And since I can’t copy him, you’ll just have to take my word for it, Bradish pitched at an ace-level all week across back-to-back starts. MVO-level stuff.

Glenn’s Three Down:

3. INF Jeremiah Jackson

After a 2-13 week, the bloom is totally off the rose. Something tells me he’ll have a hot stretch again before it’s all said and done.

2. SP Trevor Rogers

This stinks. He was obviously in position for his best start in weeks…and then the 7th inning happened. But he was only at 70 pitches, so it’s not crazy that he was out there for the 7th. Just really disappointing.

1. RP Yennier Cano

He didn’t get an out against the Rays on Wednesday. And then he DID get an out against the Blue Jays Friday…but that outing was much worse.

Griffin’s Three Down:

3. 2B Jeremiah Jackson

Not a great week for JJ, didn’t do much at the plate and is seeing himself lose his job at second base, hopefully he settles back in as a reserve quickly because he was a massive part of making the Orioles fun the first month of the season.

2. RP Anthony Nunez

He keeps getting critical late-inning opportunities and seems to be delivering less and less, it’s unfortunate. Still an Anthony Nunez fan moving forward.

1. RP Yennier Cano

He wasn’t good this week, straight up bad, blew the game Friday night which sticks out like a sore thumb on what was a great week of Orioles baseball.
