You know the drill! But if you’re new, here at Glenn Clark Radio, we always try to reflect on the most recent Ravens game in a more convivial manner. In retrospect, we like to choose five players on the team who — depending on the outcome of the game — deserve a ‘Pat On The Ass’ or ‘Slap To The Helmet.’
The rules are simple: pick two players on defense, two players on offense, and one “wild card” (an offensive player, defensive player, special teamer or coach) who stuck out from the pack.
Son of a bitch, they actually did, the Ravens won a game without Lamar Jackson, Tyler Huntley look as good as ever and the defense looked much more confident as the team gets healthier and healthier. And following wins Glenn and Griffin have some Ass Pats to dish out:
They will count down in sequential order before we name the ultimate prize — Two Pats on the Ass. That one player who one single Pat just wouldn’t sit right.
Without further adieu:
Glenn Clark’s Week 8 Pats:
5. CB Nate Wiggins
He had some struggles early against Odunze for sure. But the pick is the biggest play of the Ravens’ season so far.
4. FB Pat Ricard
Boy is it nice to have him back. T.J. Edwards might still be under the turf.
3. S Kyle Hamilton
They’re clearly a better defense when they’re able to use him all over the field the way they want to. It’s a shame he doesn’t get credit for a sack on the intentional grounding.
2. QB Tyler Huntley
He was exactly what the Ravens needed. Made some plays, didn’t make mistakes. I still hope he doesn’t have to play again.
1. LB Roquan Smith (two pats)
Also very good to have him back and this version of Roquan Smith is a flat out game changer.
Griffin Bass’s Week 8 Pats:
5. FB Pat Ricard
I genuinely considered him for the #1 spot this week.
4. QB Tyler Huntley
I call him “Heart Attack” Huntley. It’s amazing what happens when your QB isn’t actively trying to lose the game.
3. EDGE Mike Green
We’ve been hard on Green the first few weeks, and rightfully so, but yesterday he was impactful from the start and that continued throughout the game along with a huge uptick in usage. Still raw, lots to improve, but this was an inspiring effort.
2. S Kyle Hamilton
He’s too good to ever not be on this list. I’m awarding him a sack for the intentional grounding he caused, had pressure on the other intentional grounding which was right before halftime.
1. CB Nate Wiggins (two pats)
I just think he’s so good. He really struggled on the opening series and a half. Then he settled in completely and helped silence DJ Moore and Rome Odunze until the 4th quarter when Caleb Williams started targeting him again, and Wiggins proceeded to make the play of the game.
