You know the drill by now, but if you’re new, here at Glenn Clark Radio, we always try to reflect on the most recent Ravens game in a more convivial manner. In retrospect, we like to choose five players on the team who — depending on the outcome of the game — deserve a Pat On The Ass or Slap To The Helmet.
The rules are simple: pick two players on defense, two players on offense, and one “wild card” (an offensive player, defensive player, special teamer or coach) who stuck out from the pack.
The Ravens picked up much needed win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday in pretty convincing fashion as well, a 34-17 victory–as a result, we have some Ass Pats to hand out.
They will count down in sequential order before we name the ultimate prize — Two Pats on the Ass. That one player who one single Pat just wouldn’t sit right.
Without further adieu:
Glenn’s Pats on the Ass:
5. S Kyle Hamilton
On the whole, I thought he was the best defensive player on the field Saturday. The 4th down breakup was massive but he was just really good in general. My apologies to Ar’darius Washington for having to leave him off.
4. QB Lamar Jackson
While it is indeed fair to point out that the interception was bad and there was a fumble (albeit one that you’d probably assign blame to Ronnie Stanley for), the reality is that Jackson was really good against the Steelers. The only
3. CB Marlon Humphrey
I still haven’t decided if his or Washington’s play will be #1 on tomorrow’s list but him being #3 here probably suggests which way I’m leaning.
2. OT Roger Rosengarten
I absolutely could not make this list without representation for the O-Line, which was spectacular. And the job that Rosengarten did on T.J. Watt-even if the team was giving him help AND even if Watt was limited-was stellar.
1. RB Derrick Henry (two pats)
Just dominant.
Griffin’s Pats on the Ass:
5. RB Derrick Henry
He’s a horse.
4. OLB Kyle Van Noy
What a game, and what a season for the old man. So disruptive.
3. Safety Ar’Darius Washington
Perhaps the biggest play of game, 7-7 ballgame at the time. And just an awesome football play.
2. QB Lamar Jackson
The interception was no good. The rest, very much was–Every other decision was right, he was surgical outside of that one play.
1. CB Marlon Humphrey (two pats)
Great read on the Pick 6. Probably the play of the game, and won the game.
We recapped the week in Picks on Monday’s show as well, here is a look at the updated standings (be sure to check back for our Christmas Day picks tomorrow!):
