New Maryland baseball coach Matt Swope was a guest on Glenn Clark Radio Thursday.
Among the topics he discussed were:
-What it means to him to become the head coach of the program he played for and he’s spent so much time with
-How Maryland baseball has changed so dramatically from his playing days to the the success they’ve found (three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, back to back Big Ten regular season titles)
-Why fans can be comfortable he’s not looking for a bigger job after the last three coaches (Rob Vaughn, John Szefc, Erik Bakich) all left for other opportunities
-The next steps the program needs to take in order to reach the College World Series in Omaha
-Some of his own superstitions as a coach
