Hopefully you’ve already heard that we’re once again collecting coats and clothes for Helping Up Mission this year in partnership with Drew Forrester’s DrewsMorningDish.com. Like everything else in 2020, this is easily the most difficult year ever for our collection.

We will be at Looney’s Perry Hall on December 14 from 6:30-8:30 before the Ravens/Browns Monday Night Football game to collect any men’s/women’s/kids coats/jackets/gloves/hats or other clothes you might have. Ravens Ring of Honor legend Michael McCrary will be there with us taking socially distanced pictures and signing autographs. Thanks to Great 8’s Memorabilia and Jerry’s Toyota/Jerry’s Chevrolet for making this event happen. (98 Rock’s Wendi Townsend has pledged to join us too!)

But there’s more! We also have collection bins all over town. Looney’s Perry Hall, Chick-Fil-A Nottingham Square (5198 Campbell Blvd.), Jerry’s Toyota in Fullerton, Jerry’s Chevrolet in Parkville, Glory Days Grill in Towson and Meadow Mill Athletic Club in Hampden. Thanks to all of them! Please stop by with your donations through December 14. Also, our friend Nick Kelly will be collecting coats and clothes at the Southwestern Park and Ride near UMBC this Sunday, December 6 from 11am-1pm.

But for the first time, we’re also asking you for money this year. We know it’s tough to get out to events because of the pandemic. And on top of that, we have learned that the folks at Helping Up have so little that they need things like underwear and socks, too. And you, well, shouldn’t be donating that.

SO…we need your money. Thanks to those who have already donated. But in honor of #GivingTuesday, I’ve got one more way for you to get involved. The fine folks at Topps sent me a box of 50 cards they curated with Cal Ripken Jr. to celebrate the 25th anniversary of 2,131. It MAY include an autographed card (they were inserted randomly). There were only a few boxes made and they’ve already sold out. But I have one. And while I’d like to keep it (honestly), I’d rather use it to help the folks at Helping Up.

So here’s the deal. I’m doing a raffle. Winner gets the box of cards, a copy of Cal’s book “Just Show Up” and $75 in Glory Days Grill gift certificates. Two others will get $25 Glory Days gift certificates. I want to raise $2,020. So if you’re willing to donate $20.20, you get one of 100 spots in the raffle. (If you’d like to donate more, you can have more spots!)

Here’s how you do it. Venmo the $20.20 to @Glenn-Clark or PayPal glennclarkradio@gmail.com. Then Tweet me @GlennClarkRadio or email glennclarkradio@gmail.com and let me know which numbers (1-100) you would want. I will confirm receipt of the donation and let you know if the number is available or if you need to pick another one.

PLEASE help us help Helping Up! PLEASE!
