Baseball season is back! And with is the return of ‘Three Up and Three Down’ where Glenn and Griffin recap the week that was in Orioles baseball. It’s quite simple, Monday on GCR the boys will rank their top performing Orioles each week, and some of the worst performing birds of the previous week. Much like in baseball, we will go ‘Three Up and Three Down’ ranking the top three best and bottom three worst Orioles performers based specifically the most recent week of baseball.

Orioles go three up and three down themselves, following up an encouraging series win vs the Yankees by dropping two of three to the Nationals down in DC. As hard as this team is getting to watch, Glenn and Griffin are hanging out with them for you, let’s see how the boys say the birds stacking up this week:

Glenn’s Three Up:

3. RP Anthony Nunez

We’ve put Rico on the list a few times but Nunez deserves some credit. He got the save on Monday night, then followed it up with a strong performance in an early leverage spot Sunday.

2. 3B Coby Mayo

The image of him pimping a foul ball before striking out on Saturday is tough to forget. But it doesn’t change that he OPS-ed 1.177 for the week and he launched the go-ahead three-run homer vs the Yankees Monday night.

1. SP Kyle Bradish

To say the least, the best single game performance from any Oriole this season.

Griffin’s Three Up:

3. RP Rico Garcia

I mean he’s my MVO at this point. Only pitched twice out of the bullpen, but you know exactly what you’re getting when he enters a game, despite allowing just his second base hit of the season.

2. 3B Coby Mayo

Good week, nearly a great week. Let’s hope he can bottle some of this and find some consistency between what he was last week vs this week.

1. SP Kyle Bradish

Six scoreless innings vs the Yankees to clinch a series win? Yeah that’s not bad. Stacking consecutive great starts is a really good sign.

Glenn’s Three Down:

3. 1B Pete Alonso

This is frustrating because you were convinced he was on the uptick and then he OPS-ed .469 for the week.

2. C Adley Rutschman

Certainly not going to panic. But a 2-20 week with a .345 OPS is not what we had in mind for the guy who has been the team MVP to this point.

1. SP Trevor Rogers

Maybe he just needed a start to shake off the rust.

Griffin’s Three Down:

3. RP Keegan Akin

A struggling offense starts showing some life and brings you within one run in the 7th on Saturday. So the O’s turn to Keegan Akin, who didn’t just piss down his leg, he took a s*** down his leg and all over the mound.

2. C Adley Rutschman

Adley was not good. 2-for-20 on the week and his OBP was lower than his batting average, which I guess makes practical sense but I didn’t know was actually possible.

1. SP Trevor Rogers

Yuck.
