Glenn and Griffin are bringing back our tradition we started last year for this 2025 baseball season Mondays on GCR with ‘Three Up and Three Down’ where we rank the best and worst Orioles performers of the week, much like how we do with Pats on the Ass and Slaps to the Helmet during football season after Ravens games. The guys will each name three players, three trending up, three trending down, based on how they did for that week specifically.

Orioles go 2-4 in a very up and down week, getting swept in Minnesota before taking two of three in Anaheim. Here’s how the boys saw the week in ‘Three Up and Three Down’:

Glenn’s Three Up:

3. 3B Emmanuel Rivera

What a revelation he was last week. With no other third base options until Jordan Westburg returns, he has stepped up big time. He finished the week 7/18 with a pair of doubles and just looked like a professional hitter.

2. SS Gunnar Henderson

Now at a 17 game on base streak, he looks particularly Gunnar Henderson-y again, OPS-ing .973 for the week.

1. SP Tomoyuki Sugano

A starting pitcher still on the mound in the eighth inning? In THIS economy?

Griffin’s Three Up:

3. 3B Emmanuel Rivera

All he does is hit, and that’s for a lot more than a bulk of this lineup has done this season.

2. SS Gunnar Henderson

He’s back.

1. SP Tomoyuki Sugano

Ace. And I’m no longer saying tongue in cheek either. This was a good signing, really good.

Glenn’s Three Down:

3. CF Cedric Mullins

Two hits on Sunday salvaged him from what probably would have been the top spot on this list. It was a mess but you have to hope that gets him going again.

2. C Adley Rutschman

Speaking of which, woof. He finished .136/.174/.227 despite getting a gift “triple” Sunday.

1. SP Kyle Gibson

He’s a super nice guy. I hope at some point he remembers how to pitch.

Griffin’s Three Down:

3.  C Adley Rutschman

This was the week Ryan Mountcastle had two weeks ago.  He just looks completely overmatched in every AB.

2. SP Kyle Gibson

Yeah, just in case you thought his first two starts were flukes, he made sure there was no doubt that we understand he’s not a good pitcher

1. CF Cedric Mullins

You don’t have to be the team’s catalyst, but this is not it either. Too many strikeouts, just two hits on the week and they all came yesterday…

Here’s a look at the season-long standings. Scoring is simple: 3 points awarded to the top player in ‘Three Up’ each week (then 2 points and 1 point), -3 points for the top player in ‘Three Down’ each week (then -2 points and -1 point):
