Sugano Nabs Second And Henderson First #ManOfTheMatch Of Season In Orioles’ Series Win Over Angels

As you’re almost certainly aware, after every Orioles win this season, Glenn determines a “Man Of The Match,” which some have called “the highest honor in all of sports.”

In addition to the social media recognition, the player’s face also goes into a featured position on our “Never Lose Ever” board in the studio.

We received requests to keep an updated tally of how many “Man Of The Match” nods each player has received for the season. We’ll keep that tally here and update it regularly.

Tomo Sugano allowed just one run (and just three baserunners) while pitching into the eighth inning in a 4-1 win over the Angels May 9, claiming his second #MOTM of the season. Gunnar Henderson had two extra base hits, setting the tone with a double and later adding a home run that iced away a 7-3 win over the Angels May 11. That was enough for his first MOTM of the year.

Here’s the tally for the season:

Jackson Holliday-2 (April 5, April 16)
Cedric Mullins-2 (March 31, April 12)
Tomoyuki Sugano-2 (April 17, May 9)
Félix Bautista-1 (April 28)
Zach Eflin-1 (April 7)
Gunnar Henderson-1 (May 11)
Dean Kremer-1 (May 2)
Ramón Laureano-1 (April 19)
Ryan Mountcastle-1 (April 30)
Tyler O’Neill-1 (March 27)
Cade Povich-1 (April 24)
Ramón Urías-1 (March 29)
