Glenn and Griffin are bringing back our tradition we started last year for this 2025 baseball season Mondays on GCR with ‘Three Up and Three Down’ where we rank the best and worst Orioles performers of the week, much like how we do with Pats on the Ass and Slaps to the Helmet during football season after Ravens games. The guys will each name three players, three trending up, three trending down, based on how they did for that week specifically.

Orioles “bounce back” from a 1-5 week by going three up and three down themselves in 3-3 week agains the Yankees and Royals. Lots of good to pick from, still plenty of bad as well:

Glenn’s Three Up:

3. 2B Jackson Holliday

I was torn between Holliday and Ryan O’Hearn for this spot. They’re both great options. But the upside potential if this week was Holliday’s breakout moment is massive.

2. SP Dean Kremer

Kremer has historically been his worst in starts made before May 1st. Hopefully that pattern continues. Seven shutout innings was exceptional-but is probably an unrealistic standard.

1. CL Félix Bautista

Two 1-2-3 one run saves in back to back appearances against the Yankees included an inspiring strikeout of Aaron Judge. It felt like he was SO back this week.

Griffin’s Three Up:

3. SP Dean Kremer

Needed it. Dean delivered, big time.

2. RP Félix Bautista

He’s back.

1. 1B Ryan O’Hearn

Home runs are pretty cool man, especially of the clutch variety, it’s also nice having a professional hitter in this lineup.

Glenn’s Three Down:

3. RP Charlie Morton

The choice to put him in a two run game against the Royals Sunday was just as befuddling to me as it was to you. But “we know he stinks” doesn’t excuse him stinking.

2. OF Heston Kjerstad

Kjerstad wasn’t great this week (.572 OPS). But his spot on the list was clinched with his unfathomable baserunning faux pas in Sunday’s loss.

1. SP Kyle Gibson

It’s not a great sign that allowing three earned runs on five hits and a walk over four innings was your good start that week.

Griffin’s Three Down:

3.  RP Matt Bowman

Take your pick… look, I know it was an extremely small sample size with Scott Blewett but are we really sure he’s not better than Matt freaking Bowman?

2. SP Kyle Gibson

That’s not what pitching is supposed to look like.

1. 1B Ryan Mountcastle

I don’t think I can watch him play baseball anymore. How many times are we going to let him strikeout on three pitches with runners on base? HOW MANY?!?!

Here’s a look at the season-long standings. Scoring is simple: 3 points awarded to the top player in ‘Three Up’ each week (then 2 points and 1 point), -3 points for the top player in ‘Three Down’ each week (then -2 points and -1 point):

And if you missed it live, Glenn and Griffin share their picks here:
