Mountcastle’s Desperately Needed Homer Gets Team Going, Gets Him First #ManOfTheMatch Nod Of 2025

As you’re almost certainly aware, after every Orioles win this season, Glenn determines a “Man Of The Match,” which some have called “the highest honor in all of sports.”

In addition to the social media recognition, the player’s face also goes into a featured position on our “Never Lose Ever” board in the studio.

We received requests to keep an updated tally of how many “Man Of The Match” nods each player has received for the season. We’ll keep that tally here and update it regularly.

Given how things had gone the night before and how things started quite poorly with Aaron Judge hitting a first inning home run, a lot of us thought the April 30 game against the Yankees was going to get away from them quickly. But Ryan Mountcastle flipped momentum with a massive two run homer, making him #MOTM for the 5-4 victory.

Here’s the tally for the season:

Jackson Holliday-2 (April 5, April 16)
Cedric Mullins-2 (March 31, April 12)
Félix Bautista-1 (April 28)
Zach Eflin-1 (April 7)
Ramón Laureano-1 (April 19)
Ryan Mountcastle-1 (April 30)
Tyler O’Neill-1 (March 27)
Cade Povich-1 (April 24)
Tomoyuki Sugano-1 (April 17)
Ramón Urías-1 (March 29)
