Baseball season is back! And with is the return of ‘Three Up and Three Down’ where Glenn and Griffin recap the week that was in Orioles baseball. It’s quite simple, Monday on GCR the boys will rank their top performing Orioles each week, and some of the worst performing birds of the previous week. Much like in baseball, we will go ‘Three Up and Three Down’ ranking the top three best and bottom three worst Orioles performers based specifically the most recent week of baseball.
The second week of Orioles baseball in 2026 did not yield much success, the O’s lost two of three to the Texas Rangers before being swept in their first road series of the year by the Pittsburgh Pirates. We’ll still gleam on a few of the positives, and magnify the negatives:
Glenn’s Three Up:
3. RP Rico Garcia
He got ten outs over three appearances and allowed ONE baserunner (no hits). On Saturday he stranded another runner in scoring position. There’s an argument he should be higher on the list.
2. OF Taylor Ward
I have been worried that he was redundant but he was anything but this week. His eleven hits didn’t include a single home run (the Orioles could ironically use a few more of those) and he added three more walks. Defense is still “ehh,” but he was a rare bright spot in a miserable week.
1. SP Trevor Rogers
His second quality start in as many tries and honestly, I’m still not even sure just how good he’s been. It’s wild.
Griffin’s Three Up:
3. RP Rico Garcia
I had to step back and ask myself, was Rico Garcia really one of the 3 best Orioles this week? Yes, yes he was. It does beg the question what does Gunnar have to do to make this list?
2. SP Trevor Rogers

1. LF Taylor Ward
A leadoff hitter (Taylor’s version).
Glenn’s Three Down:
3. OF Tyler O’Neill
1-13 with five strikeouts. Just not great.
2. SP Kyle Bradish
The disappointment is greater because of the expectation. It’s not just that he gave up the four runs over four innings, but add in nine baserunners on top of that. He’s supposed to be the guy that’s good enough to be an ace.
1. SP Chris Bassitt
I am to understand that ten runs and 18 baserunners over 6.1 innings in two starts is not what you’re looking for.
Griffin’s Three Down:
3. 3B Coby Mayo
We were concerned about him coming into the season, just concerned about the wrong aspect of his game apparently. The defense has been pretty good (Blaze Alexander is obviously better) but his bat has been abysmal: 1-for-11 with six strikeouts this round.
2. RF Tyler O’Neill
He is so not worth the contract that he can’t even get into the lineup. Just terrible.
1. SP Chris Bassitt
They were out of two games before they even got past the 2nd inning. He has not looked major league.
