Glenn and Griffin are bringing back our tradition we started last year for this 2025 baseball season Mondays on GCR with ‘Three Up and Three Down’ where we rank the best and worst Orioles performers of the week, much like how we do with Pats on the Ass and Slaps to the Helmet during football season after Ravens games. The guys will each name three players, three trending up, three trending down, based on how they did for that week specifically.

What went from inspiring baseball has quickly turned ugly, the Orioles go 1-6 after being swept by the Red Sox in four games at home before heading out west to be embarrassed in two of three in San Francisco. Reluctantly, here is how the boys saw the squad stacking up in ‘Three Up and Three Down’:

Glenn’s Three Up:

3. UTIL Jeremiah Jackson

Defensive issues prevented him from being higher on the list but he still finished 9-30 for the week.

2. SP Kyle Bradish

It wasn’t perfect but it was just so encouraging to see him strike out 10 batters over 6 innings (while allowing just two runs).

1. SP Trevor Rogers

He’s the best Oriole.

Griffin’s Three Up:

3. 1B Ryan Mountcastle

Mounty and Jeremiah Jackson were literally deadlocked in this spot for me, both were really solid at the plate this week. And while Mountcastle probably should’ve picked some of those bad throws at first this week, JJ actually got tagged with some errors. So Mounty it is.

2. Kyle Bradish

Made two mistakes after not pitching for 14 months. It’s really, really good to have a guy like that back. Provides some optimism for 2026.

1. SP Trevor Rogers

I’m just going to leave him in this spot with permanent ink the rest of the season.

Glenn’s Three Down:

3. OF Colton Cowser

I triple, quadruple, quintuple, sextuple, whatever comes after sextuple checked. He really struck out 15 times in 30 plate appearances this week.

2. 1B Coby Mayo

A 2-23 week with eight more strikeouts. This is painful.

1. SP Tomoyuki Sugano

A 2.04 WHIP over two starts. The start in Boston wasn’t particularly good. The one in San Francisco was a disaster. 19 baserunners over 9.1 IP.

Griffin’s Three Down:

3. SP Tomoyuki Sugano

Kremer was awful. But I’ve put him on this list enough, Sugano went 0-2 and had an ERA of 10.00+ and a WHIP of 2.00+. That’s even more awful.

2.  OF Colton Cowser

Pretty feast or famine, but we knew that. It’s a lot more famine right now–50% strikeout rate is honestly impressive.

1. Coby Mayo

Dude, what is happening? You’re not Cal Raleigh, you can’t get away with having just two freaking hits on the week because one was a long home run. He doesn’t look major-league.

The boys were off for Labor Day, so no audio but take here’s a look at the season-long standings. Scoring is simple: 3 points awarded to the top player in ‘Three Up’ each week (then 2 points and 1 point), -3 points for the top player in ‘Three Down’ each week (then -2 points and -1 point):
