Glenn and Griffin are bringing back our tradition we started last year for this 2025 baseball season Mondays on GCR with ‘Three Up and Three Down’ where we rank the best and worst Orioles performers of the week, much like how we do with Pats on the Ass and Slaps to the Helmet during football season after Ravens games. The guys will each name three players, three trending up, three trending down, based on how they did for that week specifically.

The most inspiring week of Orioles baseball to this point in the season, the O’s go 4-2, taking series wins vs AL West leaders in the Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners, led by Brandon Young’s perfect game bid, making it very tough to leave a few players off the list who had very strong performances this week. Here’s your ‘Three Up and Three Down’ from the guys:

Glenn’s Three Up:

3. OF Dylan Carlson

There were so many choices for this spot. Apologies to Trevor Rogers, Jeremiah Jackson and Jordan Westburg in particular. But a very encouraging week for Dylan Carlson where he OPS-ed 1.464!

2. SP Dean Kremer

Dean Kremer allowed one run over 15 innings this week and somehow was only 1-1. Just a spectacular week.

1. SP Brandon Young

But you didn’t think I was going to put Dean above Brandon Young, did you? That was insane.

Griffin’s Three Up:

3. 3B Jordan Westburg

Led the team in hitting, well him alongside Dylan Carlson and Jeremiah Jackson of all people. Despite the ‘mistake’ Saturday night, he was the best contributor on the offensive side… I guess Trevor Rogers will just have to be better if he wants to keep making this list moving forward.

2. SP Dean Kremer

Any other week, he’s a clear-cut #1. Really strong stuff from Dean going 15 innings, allowing just one run (and somehow still taking a loss).

1. SP Brandon Young

Friday night was special. Might’ve been the first time all season I unequivocally enjoyed watching Orioles baseball.

Glenn’s Three Down:

3. RP Yennier Cano

He was better against the Astros but he still coughed up a 3-1 lead against the Mariners and just…well, it’s not great.

2. 1B Coby Mayo

3-for-23 for the week. You just really wanted him to dominate with this opportunity.

1. C Adley Rutschman

It would be really nice if Adley Rutschman’s last six weeks could be…not a .260 OPS.

Griffin’s Three Down:

3. RP Yennier Cano

Tried to blow the game Wednesday night, after a Rogers gem, at least it led to the walkoff. But he only got one out, gave up a double steal, and was charged the tying run. How on earth is he credited with a hold for that?

2.  3B Coby Mayo

The Friday night home run was nice but otherwise it was not great, only three hits and struck out nine times including after Dylan Beavers’ leadoff double in the 9th Saturday night.

1. C Adley Rutschman

Went 3-for-23, and grounded out almost every single time, at least he wasn’t striking out much, but it’s very obvious he can’t continue to bat this high in the order.

Here’s a look at the season-long standings. Scoring is simple: 3 points awarded to the top player in ‘Three Up’ each week (then 2 points and 1 point), -3 points for the top player in ‘Three Down’ each week (then -2 points and -1 point):
