Glenn and Griffin are bringing back our tradition we started last year for this 2025 baseball season Mondays on GCR with ‘Three Up and Three Down’ where we rank the best and worst Orioles performers of the week, much like how we do with Pats on the Ass and Slaps to the Helmet during football season after Ravens games. The guys will each name three players, three trending up, three trending down, based on how they did for that week specifically.

Birds go 4-3 in 7-game week that included a double-header sweep of Toronto on their way to taking three of four from the 1st place Blue Jays before dropping two of three at Wrigley Field following the trade deadline sale… This is how Glenn and Griffin saw the birds stack up:

Glenn’s Three Up:

3. 3B Jordan Westburg

12/27 with a near 1.100 OPS. Very good week.

2. SS Gunnar Henderson

9/27 with a couple of home runs and obviously the biggest Gunnar Henderson moment of the season.

1. SP Trevor Rogers

What do you think the odds would have been for him to be Orioles MVP before the season started? 100 to 1? 1,000 to 1? 10,000 to 1?

Griffin’s Three Up:

3. 3B Jordan Westburg

12 hits in a week, almost batting .500 with power, that’ll play.

2. SP Trevor Rogers

Unreal effort in Friday’s start vs one of the best offenses in the NL. I push back on Glenn’s “Orioles runaway MVP” take because of the guy that is the REAL #1 for the week, but nonetheless, it’s hard to get much better than 8 IP, 0 ER (shoutout the Wrigley wind).

1. SS Gunnar Henderson

Great week, drove in 9 runs, including that epic 3-run homer on Saturday to win the game. For whatever it’s worth, he’s my Orioles MVP at the moment.

Glenn’s Three Down:

3. SP Zach Eflin

Maybe it’s the injury but his Monday start was brutal.

2. 1B Coby Mayo

We’ve been (rightfully) clamoring for Mayo to get more playing time. So it’s quite frustrating that after a 3/4 performance Monday night, he then went 0/16 with seven strikeouts. He’s one of the most important players on the team the rest of the way. This stings.

1. SP Dean Kremer

With a chance for a four game sweep and spotted a 3-0 lead early, it’s just so incredibly frustrating.

Griffin’s Three Down:

3.  OF Dylan Carlson

Yeah I get it, he’s not even supposed to be here, but the guy went 0-for-16 and is the de facto centerfielder for this ball club, so you can’t hide from that.

2. SP Zach Eflin

Terrible start on Monday, then landed on the IL for the third time this season. With what little trade value he had coming into the week, he made sure that they couldn’t even deal him if they wanted.

1. SP Dean Kremer

Dean has been a lot more bad than good, unfortunately that continued vs the Blue Jays.

Here’s a look at the season-long standings. Scoring is simple: 3 points awarded to the top player in ‘Three Up’ each week (then 2 points and 1 point), -3 points for the top player in ‘Three Down’ each week (then -2 points and -1 point):
