Glenn and Griffin are bringing back our tradition we started last year for this 2025 baseball season Mondays on GCR with ‘Three Up and Three Down’ where we rank the best and worst Orioles performers of the week, much like how we do with Pats on the Ass and Slaps to the Helmet during football season after Ravens games. The guys will each name three players, three trending up, three trending down, based on how they did for that week specifically.
Orioles return from the All-Star break with a pair of losses on Friday and Saturday down in Tampa against a division rival in the Rays before salvaging the series on Sunday with a win to avoid being swept and going 1-2 on the short week. Here’s how the boys viewed the weekend:
Glenn’s Three Up:
3. 3B Jordan Westburg
At 5-12 with a couple of runs scored, he had the best weekend of any hitter.
2. SP Trevor Rogers
When do they announce that he’s playing for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic?
1. SP Dean Kremer
Yes, they lost the game. But one run and six baserunners over seven innings was the best performance of the weekend without question.
Griffin’s Three Up:
3. SS Gunnar Hendereson
Just seems like Gunnar Henderson again, hitting for extra bases again, he’s hitting with guys on-base. It’s nice to have a big league hitter.
2. SP Trevor Rogers
This is starting to feel real, pitched excellently in a day game in Florida.
1. SP Dean Kremer
Just a great start, good baseball teams win games when their starter goes 7 innings allowing just one run on three hits. I’m starting to get the feeling Dean will get the win in those types of games later this season… pitching in a different uniform.
Glenn’s Three Down:
3. DH/1B Ryan O’Hearn
He was charged with the error and without question, he’s gotta make the play. But it’s complicated. Since he also went 2-11, the combination is enough for him to make the list.
2. RP Gregory Soto
1. SP Charlie Morton
Oh, there you are, Charlie.
Griffin’s Three Down:
3. OF Ramón Laureano
I guess he wasn’t awful but my main focus is on these guys who can generate some trade value. Laureano falls into that category and he only had one hit on the weekend, and got an early shower yesterday for acting like a child.
2. SP Charlie Morton
Wow, that was bad!
1. RP Seranthony Dominguez
Here’s a look at the season-long standings. Scoring is simple: 3 points awarded to the top player in ‘Three Up’ each week (then 2 points and 1 point), -3 points for the top player in ‘Three Down’ each week (then -2 points and -1 point):
