Mayo Nabs First, Kremer Second #ManOfTheMatch Honors As Orioles Take Series From Rays

As you’re almost certainly aware, after every Orioles win this season, Glenn determines a “Man Of The Match,” which some have called “the highest honor in all of sports.”

In addition to the social media recognition, the player’s face also goes into a featured position on our “Never Lose Ever” board in the studio.

We received requests to keep an updated tally of how many “Man Of The Match” nods each player has received for the season. We’ll keep that tally here and update it regularly.

The Orioles trailed 6-0 to the Rays June 27 and appeared well on their way to another deflating loss. Coby Mayo changed that with a huge two run double that started a rally and later added his first career home run in their 22-8 win. That was enough for his first #MOTM honor of the season. And Dean Kremer was sublime, allowing just four baserunners over seven shutout innings, in their 5-1 win over the Rays 29. That was more than enough for his second #MOTM of the year.

Here’s the tally for the season:

Zach Eflin-3 (April 7, May 30, June 11)
Charlie Morton-3 (May 26, June 1, June 13)
Cedric Mullins-3 (March 31, April 12, June 14)
