Glenn and Griffin are bringing back our tradition we started last year for this 2025 baseball season Mondays on GCR with ‘Three Up and Three Down’ where we rank the best and worst Orioles performers of the week, much like how we do with Pats on the Ass and Slaps to the Helmet during football season after Ravens games. The guys will each name three players, three trending up, three trending down, based on how they did for that week specifically.
A bit of a stepback over the last seven days as the Orioles go 3-4, dropping two of three in New York and splitting with Tampa while the bullpen squandered leads in multiple losses last week. Here’s how the G-men, Glenn and Griffin, saw the week stacking up:
Glenn’s Three Up:
3. OF Colton Cowser
This is tough because the three home runs were massive and he still finished with a 1.016 OPS but 10 strikeouts too.
2. SP Dean Kremer
He didn’t work very deep in either start but he sure as hell pitched quite well for the 10.2 innings. He deserved a better fate Sunday.
1. RP Félix Bautista
Three outings. Three innings. No runs. No baserunners.
Griffin’s Three Up:
3. SS Gunnar Henderson
Feels like he’s turning back into who he is, you know, Gunnar Henderson. It’s weird the power hasn’t returned yet but it was a great week, he just shows up, pinch hits, does whatever you need.
2. OF Colton Cowser
A really strong week, struck a few times but OPS doesn’t lie. That just comes with the territory and he did what he does best down in Tampa, entertained and hit the ball over the fence down in Tampa.
1. SP Charlie Morton
Bouncing back after the 8-0 debacle was a must and Charlie delivered, he’s definitively #1 for me–really for that alone. And it was the best start of any Oriole this week.
Glenn’s Three Down:
3. INF Rámon Urías
He went 1-19 and his only hit was a home run. Which is weird because…
2. OF Cedric Mullins
He went 1-21 and his only hit was a home run.
1. SP Zach Eflin
I guess he REALLY doesn’t want to be traded.
Griffin’s Three Down:
3. CF Cedric Mullins
Brutal week… Mullins and Urías both (who both happened to homer with the one hit on the week), but Mullins struck out more while Urías’s homer was against the Yankees late in a close game they won.
2. SP Zach Eflin
Two starts, and two REALLY bad starts at that.
1. SP Trevor Rogers
Sure, it was a team effort but the one time the offense spots you 8 runs in the second inning of a game and he literally pissed down his leg like a scared dog. It all started with Rogers not being able to escape the *checks notes* THIRD FREAKING INNING!
Here’s a look at the season-long standings. Scoring is simple: 3 points awarded to the top player in ‘Three Up’ each week (then 2 points and 1 point), -3 points for the top player in ‘Three Down’ each week (then -2 points and -1 point):
