Glenn and Griffin are bringing back our tradition we started last year for this 2025 baseball season Mondays on GCR with ‘Three Up and Three Down’ where we rank the best and worst Orioles performers of the week, much like how we do with Pats on the Ass and Slaps to the Helmet during football season after Ravens games. The guys will each name three players, three trending up, three trending down, based on how they did for that week specifically.

They did it, they freaking did it, a winning week for the Orioles, their first of 2025! Glenn and Griffin recap that week that was after the birds go 4-2, finishing the week with a sweep of the White Sox, giving us–finally–more pleasant things to talk about than negative:

Glenn’s Three Up:

3. SP Zach Eflin

Five baserunners and six strikeouts over seven shutout innings? That’s the Zach Eflin I remember.

2. OF Dylan Carlson

Okay, sure, yeah. He OPS-ed .981 over 20 at-bats and flashed some leather in the process.

1. SP Charlie Morton

He says he think he fixed something when he was out in Anaheim. It lead to a 1.03 WHIP over 12.2 innings while allowing just two earned runs in his return to the rotation. So maybe? a

Griffin’s Three Up:

3. SP Zach Eflin

Phenomenal start on Friday, feels even better being able to bounce back after the slow rebound off the injury.

2. 1B Ryan O’Hearn

Every time he comes up to bat, I get a good feeling. And then he delivers too.

1. SP Charlie Morton

I really don’t believe this, but we will certainly take it.

Glenn’s Three Down:

3. SP Cade Povich

It was particularly disheartening that he was spotted 3-0 and 4-2 leads when the Orioles had the chance to secure a series win over the Cardinals.

2. C Adley Rutschman

Sure, he only played in 3 games. But he still went just 1-12 with five strikeouts.

1. OF Heston Kjerstad

He finally got a hit…only to be immediately back-picked off of third base. He’s not long for the bigs at this point.

Griffin’s Three Down:

3.  SP Cade Povich

Pitching was not the issue this week, but Povich was not good unfortunately, 11 baserunners in 4.2 IP…

2. C Adley Rutschman

He is hurting the team, and there are literally no answers. I’m not sending him down, because then who the hell is going to catch?

1. OF Heston Kjerstad

It’s hard to comprehend it being this bad. What does he do well?

Here’s a look at the season-long standings. Scoring is simple: 3 points awarded to the top player in ‘Three Up’ each week (then 2 points and 1 point), -3 points for the top player in ‘Three Down’ each week (then -2 points and -1 point):
