As you’re almost certainly aware, after every Orioles win this season, Glenn determines a “Man Of The Match,” which some have called “the highest honor in all of sports.”
In addition to the social media recognition, the player’s face also goes into a featured position on our “Never Lose Ever” board in the studio.
We received requests to keep an updated tally of how many “Man Of The Match” nods each player has received for the season. We’ll keep that tally here and update it regularly.
Two Orioles picked up their first ever #ManOfTheMatch nod in the Orioles four game series split with the Red Sox. Trevor Rogers shocked the Baltimore baseball world with a spectacular 6.1 shutout innings, allowing just three baserunners in a 2-1 win May 24. Then Dylan Carlson flashed the leather with some great catches and added a home run in the 5-1 win May 25. It was enough for both to receive the #MOTM nods.
Here’s the tally for the season:
Jackson Holliday-2 (April 5, April 16)
Cedric Mullins-2 (March 31, April 12)
Tomoyuki Sugano-2 (April 17, May 9)
