As you’re almost certainly aware, after every Orioles win this season, Glenn determines a “Man Of The Match,” which some have called “the highest honor in all of sports.”
In addition to the social media recognition, the player’s face also goes into a featured position on our “Never Lose Ever” board in the studio.
We received requests to keep an updated tally of how many “Man Of The Match” nods each player has received for the season. We’ll keep that tally here and update it regularly.
The Orioles finally snapped their unseemly eight game losing streak with a win over the Brewers May 21. Ryan O’Hearn went 4/6 with a double, run and 2RBI. While there were other candidates (Tomoyuki Sugano and Adley Rutschman stand out), O’Hearn was stellar and earned his first #ManOfTheMatch of the year. It may also be his last as we might rip the board down if things don’t turn around soon.
Here’s the tally for the season:
Jackson Holliday-2 (April 5, April 16)
Cedric Mullins-2 (March 31, April 12)
Tomoyuki Sugano-2 (April 17, May 9)
Félix Bautista-1 (April 28)
Zach Eflin-1 (April 7)
Gunnar Henderson-1 (May 11)
Dean Kremer-1 (May 2)
Ramón Laureano-1 (April 19)
Ryan Mountcastle-1 (April 30)
Ryan O’Hearn-1 (May 21)
Tyler O’Neill-1 (March 27)
Cade Povich-1 (April 24)
Ramón Urías-1 (March 29)
