Seven Stellar Innings Make Sugano Easy Choice For First #ManOfTheMatch Honor

As you’re almost certainly aware, after every Orioles win this season, Glenn determines a “Man Of The Match,” which some have called “the highest honor in all of sports.”

In addition to the social media recognition, the player’s face also goes into a featured position on our “Never Lose Ever” board in the studio.

We received requests to keep an updated tally of how many “Man Of The Match” nods each player has received for the season. We’ll keep that tally here and update it regularly.

Tomoyuki Sugano authored the Orioles’ first seven inning start of the season April 17, allowing just two runs on five hits and no walks. He claimed his second win but his first #MOTM of the Orioles beat the Guardians 6-2 for their first series win of the year.

Here’s the tally for the season:

Jackson Holliday-2 (April 5, April 16)
Cedric Mullins-2 (March 31, April 12)
Zach Eflin-1 (April 7)
Tyler O’Neill-1 (March 27)
Tomoyuki Sugano-1 (April 17)
Ramón Urías-1 (March 29)
