In effort to introduce me to movies that Glenn says I “definitely should have seen by now”, I will dive into another cult-classic film, per Glenn’s request, after Amanda Peet came on the program earlier in the week. As always, I report back my findings on the show.
Today I went over Dennis Dugan’s “Saving Silverman” debuting at #3 on the domestic box office back in February of 2001, starring Amanda Peet, Steve Zahn, Jack Black, Jason Biggs and of course the ineffable R. Lee Ermey. A pleasant watch but there’s not a lot that I’m gonna be taking with me after this, no connection to Neil Diamond whatsoever, but the jacket getting stuck in the car as Jack Black pushes it over the cliff is by far my favorite scene. My official rating: 6.9/10 (for Amanda Peet of course)
Overall rankings (subject to change):
1. Tommy Boy – 9.4
2. Wedding Crashers – 9.3
3. Forgetting Sarah Marshall – 8.5
4. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off – 8.4
5. The Great Outdoors – 7.6
6. Can’t Hardly Wait – 7.3
7. Road Trip – 7.0
8. Saving Silverman – 6.9
9. Old School – 6.0
