Glenn and Griffin continue our Monday tradition for the 2024 baseball season Monday on GCR with ‘Three Up and Three Down’ where we rank the best and worst Orioles performers of the week, much like how we do with Pats on the Ass and Slaps to the Helmet during football season after Ravens games. The guys will each name three players, three trending up, three trending down, based on how they did for that week specifically. The Birds end the regular season on very positive note, going 5-1 during the week with a variety of contributors.
Oh and good news! Three Up And Three Down is now presented by Costas Inn! Every Monday we’ll be giving away a $50 gift card for someone who participates so you can try delicious things like THE CRAB TOWER.
Without further adieu:
Glenn’s Three Up:
3. RP Gregory Soto
He’s their top late inning option going into the postseason which is amazing and terrifying and really amazing and really terrifying.
2. SP Cade Povich
That game still mattered and the Orioles really didn’t want to throw Dean Kremer this weekend in case they need him for Thursday and he was great.
1. DH Ryan O’Hearn
That looked like the guy from last year.
Griffin’s Three Up:
3. 3B Emmanuel Rivera
Just a legitimate revelation this guy has been, what do you say let’s keep the hitting against AL Central teams going shall we?
2. RP Keegan Akin
I owe him one. First career save in Yankee stadium? Working around and limiting a generational duo? That’ll play. Suddenly a key piece of this bullpen looking to make a playoff run.
1. RP Jacob Webb
Welcome, oh sorry, WELCOME back. four innings, three baserunners across four appearances, boy did this bullpen need him back
Glenn’s Three Down:
3. 3B Jordan Westburg
Not gonna overreact as he adjusts to being back.
2. C Adley Rutschman
Gonna overreact.
1. RP Yennier Canó
Yeah, very much overreacting.
Griffin’s Three Down:
3. RP Yennier Canó
A rough week.
2. RP Cionel Pérez
Also, a rough week. September has not been kind to him, hopefully October is better.
1. RP Matt Bowman
The worst performance of the week, and leaving no doubt that he doesn’t belong here this week.
Here’s a look at the season-long standings. Scoring is simple: 3 points awarded to the top player in ‘Three Up’ each week (then 2 points and 1 point), -3 points for the top player in ‘Three Down’ each week (then -2 points and -1 point):
