Former NFL Official and Supervisor of Officials Jim Daopoulos was a guest on Glenn Clark Radio Wednesday.
Among the topics he discussed were:
-All of the hullaballoo about the NFL assigning Shawn Smith to the AFC Championship Game
-Is it at all strange that road teams have had such success in games officiated by Smith?
-Why the trends with Smith’s crew aren’t even fully relevant because he’ll be working with a largely different crew for Chiefs/Ravens
-His belief that the AFC/NFC Championship Game crews might actually be more highly regarded than the Super Bowl crew
-After another high profile issue (the Baker Mayfield sack that went uncalled last week), why are we still asking coaches to officiate the games instead of having the officials do it?
